Experience

I worked for over sixteen years in NHS Adult Mental Health Clinical Psychology and Psychological Therapies services as a Clinical Associate in Applied Psychology. Before then I worked with children and young people in the care and education sector. I now work on a university psychology training course as a clinical tutor.

I have helped to train other professionals in psychological therapies, and have completed training courses in supervision for CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and IPT (Interpersonal Psychotherapy).

I was selected to help train and coach others in Motivational Interviewing, working as part of the National MI Coaching Group — an NHS initiative to tackle alcohol misuse in Scotland, running since 2011.

Between 2014 and 2016 I worked as Consultant Psychological Therapist with Veterans First Point Scotland, an NHS-led initiative developing psychological services for military veterans and their families across Scotland.
